The Arrowhead Community Hospital has been providing healthcare to the Northwest Valley for nearly two decades. Expansion Of The Arrowhead Hospital--Arizona's Pride
Starting in June 2004 the Arrowhead hospital and medical center started to expand. First they doubled the size of the facility increasing to 174,000 square feet, then raised the bed count up to 220 and increased the hospital staff. They also introduced new medical technology in that same year, leading the way for improvement. In April 2005, the center opened a new medicine unit.

In June of that same year a new unit for women and infants opened offering 20 private postpartum rooms. In August of 2005 a new and improved emergency department was introduced. As far as 2006 goes, progress and new additions are still being reported. In January of 2006 a telemetry unit was created adding 40 new beds; an intensive care unit followed with 18 new beds.

In April of 2006 the expansion completed with 5 new operating rooms being opened. The community is thrilled with the Arrowhead hospital’s ambitious and efficient efforts to provide a better hospital for the community. Their advancement is not just “progress” but high quality, state-of-the-art technology designed to improve health care and to continue saving patients’ lives.

Adding to the technology, the Arrowhead Community Hospital has started expanding its company online. Now it offers online services to its patients like pre-registration, classes calendars and even a new feature called “online nursery” in which surfers can see pictures of the newest babies born into the world.

Current or future patients can also take health quizzes and find out if cholesterol could be a problem, read articles on personal health, read and borrow some healthy recipes, and read or print emergency brochures for their own safety.

The Arrowhead Community Hospital not only offers career opportunities for nurses, doctors and other medical professionals, it also gives people of the community a chance to volunteer their services.

Every year over 250 volunteers sign up with Arrowhead Hospital and help recovering patients. The hospital offers special opportunities to high school students, as well as adult volunteers to help out not just in one or two spots but also in practically every department of the hospital.
